The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position. Primary responsibilities include leading, maintaining and structuring the Physician Assistant (PA) Program in accordance with established educational standards and practice. The Program Director serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the PA program. The selected candidate must be knowledgeable about the accreditation process.
The Program Director shall have supervisory responsibility for recruiting, retaining, and developing faculty and staff with skills and abilities appropriate to their position. Will serve as the primary advocate for the program at all levels of the University and the Medical College, the PA profession, and the community. With cooperation from the faculty, the Program Director will develop and maintain the vision and strategic plan to achieve the goals and objectives of the program and the policy framework for its successful operation.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. The Program Director may be a PA or a physician. If the program director is a PA, must hold current NCCPA certification and be license eligible as a PA in Florida. If the Program Director is a physician, must be eligible to hold current licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Florida, and must be certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board.
2. Minimum of five years of experience in patient care as a PA or physician is preferred; minimum of five years of academic experience is preferred.
3. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work cooperatively, and foster diversity in a complex academic community.
