Capital Management Specialist (59914)
Position Description
Chartis has an opportunity for a Capital Management Specialist. As a Capital Management Specialist, your duties will be:
• Develop and implement an active capital management process, including capital adequacy target and dividend policies, for Chartis LAD, consistent with Chartis global capital management framework
• Develop and implement a profitability assessment and capital allocation process at profit center / line of business and country level, within Chartis LAD, consistent with Chartis global capital allocation framework
• Develop and implement a quarterly process and provide Chartis LAD and Chartis management a capital management information pack with capital position (under various regulatory, rating agency, and internal economic capital model), projection, scenario analysis, and stress testing, capital utilization and return on capital, capital management related transactions
• Lead the development and review of capital request business cases for Chartis LAD
• Participate in the long-term planning especially regarding the legal entity balance sheet, capital, and dividend capacity projection and analysis
• Participate in the development and utilization of technical pricing practices in the underwriting process, focusing on capital allocation and profitability target
Position Requirements
• Five to 10 years of experience working in financial services industry, preferably with experience at property/casualty insurance companies, rating agencies, accounting firms, or related consulting firms
• College or higher degree, with a focus on quantitative fields such as actuarial science, economics, statistics, mathematics, etc.
• Experience in the areas of financial planning and reporting, profitability analysis, capital calculation / allocation. Experience in one or several of the following areas is a plus: reserving, pricing, reinsurance, risk quantification, rating agency and investor communications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Memberships in actuaries societies, CFA Institute, etc, are advantageous
