Controller/Office Manager
A multi-location retail organization is looking for an organized, self- motivated person for the accounting operations of the company. This person will oversee the operation of the accounting principles from purchasing, accounts receivable/payable to financials and everything in between.
Management:
Maintain all accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee Inventory, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and general ledger.
System Administrator: Software upgrades and maintaining system; must be knowledgeable of internet technical connections and hardware connections.
Oversee office staff and reports to CEO.
Transactions:
Perform payroll along with quarterly payroll tax returns.
Monthly Sales and Use tax returns.
401(k) Profit Sharing Administrative tasks.
Property management duties.
Issue timely and complete financial statements.
Perform benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Requirements:
Accountable for:
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Ensure that required ACH payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts.
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain Manager’s schedule and entire staff vacation calendar.
The Controller applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a minimum of 5+ years or equivalent business experience of 10+ years in a business setting.
This position will be based in an office environment and will be expected to travel to locations on an as needed basis.
