POSITION SUMMARY:The Database Administrator will be contracted to service the, configuration, optimization, security, audit, and ongoing support of Kellstrom Industries SQL Server infrastructure encompassing all non-production and production environments by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Ensure all overnight processes run smoothly, SQL jobs, DTS, SSIS
Ability to promote SQL code (Stored Procedures, Bulk Updates)
Performance tuning and monitoring
Analyze systems and make recommendations for Software/hardware
Monitor all jobs and maintenance plans
Review existing database codes
Tune and atomize all transaction SQL codes
Provide recommendations to decrease query time
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Requirements:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2005
SQL Profiler
Performance Monitor
Expert Level knowledge of Transact-SQL
DTS Packaging
Large 20+ mission critical and 40+ other database systems required
Linked Servers
Log Shipping
Replication
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years conducting general database administration tasks such as database and database server implementations, code deployments, backups, index and statistics maintenance plans, creation of DB authentication principals, system and query performance tuning, and system troubleshooting
At least 2 years administering database platform specific advanced features such as SQL clustering, cell level and database level encryption, SSIS infrastructure administration.
