The Receptionist is responsible for the organization and facilitation of the front desk of Student Health Center under the direction of the Medical Records and insurance Compliance coordinator.
The individual must be reliable and sensitive to the confidentiality of student records.
Responsibilities: Greet patients, provide general information about the SHC and the University
Answer Inquiries which include, but not limited to: information regarding the Student Health Insurance plans
Answer questions and explain University policy regarding private and international insurance plans and Student Health Requirements
Provide resources for Community referrals, and information about SHC events
Make patient appointments for 4 nurse providers
Answer phones and route calls to the appropriate staff member,take messages as needed for SHC staff.
Manage the patient input into the Medical Appointment software and reconcile the appointments with Outlook for each provider;
Accessing and verify patient data in AIS.
Initiating patient records by providing the student with the appropriate forms to complete for the visit, review all completed forms, organize the patient chart, print patient labels with identifiable patient information through the filing syste; verify insurance coverage; provide non-medical information as requested/required.
Responsible for making appointments for Clinic staff
Filing patient records and other information as required.
Other duties as required
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED certificate is required. An Associate's degree or a certificate in Health Care from a Vocational/technical school is preferred.
A minimum of one year of experience as a receptionist is required.
Must be great on the phone and in-person with strong customer service skills.
Must be organized and able to multi-task.
