Registered Nurse / RN - Cardiovascular ICU - CVICU / PRN *
Description:
Provision of nursing care to the adult CV patients immediately post-operatively based upon the nursing process and for which educational background has provided nursing skills. May assume responsibilities of charge nurse when the need arises. Directly supervises Unit Secretaries, ICU Monitor Technicians and Critical Care Technicians.
Essential Functions:
1. Takes into consideration age related factors when:
o Delivering direct patient care through the nursing process
o Guiding and coordinating patient/family health teaching.
2. Monitors the activities of ancillary personnel.
3. Participates in committees as necessary.
4. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications:
1. Current FL RN License
2. BLS and ACLS
3. CCRN Preferred
4. Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theories and practice.
5. Previous 2-3 years of recent CVICU experience
6. Minimum of 3-5 years of ICU experience
7. Passing score of 80 on the EKG Competency Exam
8. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
9. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
10. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
